Enthusiasts are pursuing course in order to start a profession independently, thereby increasing the overall yoga jobs in India.

The core idea of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is to migrate emphasis from posture to breath, and subsequently realize that postures, like all forms, are impermanent, they come and go. The quest of yoga is for formless consciousness. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in other words is a meditation on impermanence. The only idea permanent in this practice is the constant focus on the breath. Through Vinyasa Yoga the postures are linked to form a mala. In this way the practice becomes a movement meditation.

This practice produces heat which in return is needed to burn toxins, including the poisons of ignorance and dilapidation. It creates equilibrium between strength and flexibility. If asana only is practiced, this might lead to excess of flexibility, which can destabilize the body. The proper position of bones in the body and especially of the spine is remembered by sustaining a certain core tension in the muscles. Flexibility that cannot be supported by strength does not support well being.

The basic principle is that of simultaneous expansion in opposite directions. Whenever we expand into one direction, at the same time we need to counteract that by expanding into the opposite direction. In this way we are not caught in any extreme of body and mind. For this reason one needs to place equal importance on Vinyasa as on asanas.

In the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga system and AshtangaYoga Teacher Training India, the anatomy is used as a mantra. The postures represent beads along with the 3 fundamental techniques form the string that holds the beads together to create a garland of yoga postures. The system is designed to work as a movement meditation where the transition from each posture to the next is as important as the posture itself.

Once the fundamental methods are mastered the practice will happen almost effortlessly. Without them it becomes hard work. In this way the practice becomes deeply internal and meditative and provides us with constant feedback about whether we are in Dharana (state of focused mind) or not.
